Lillehammer is a town and municipality in Oppland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Gudbrandsdal. It also boast some seriously beautiful scenery, an international jazz festival, and held the winter Olympics in 1994.
Many of the Olympic arenas are still in use and open to visitors, making the region an incredibly popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts.
Farm life is still very much present with plentiful cabins and traditional Norwegian food to be had. Even if you’re not a snow sport person, there are always mountains to hike, cycling trails and horseback riding through spectacular scenery.
