Maybe it is because I’ve lived my whole life in the big city, or that I have some unfilled part of me that romanticizes a simpler life. I can’t say for sure what it is, but there is something about the cottages and cabins in Norway that instill a sort of peace in me.

Here are some of my favorite settings. What do you think? Do you long to get away too?

Below are a few of my own pictures from my visits to Norway. I’ve been so lucky to be able to go to these places but each destination only makes me want to see more! I don’t think I’ll ever get enough.

Have you had enough yet? There is an excellent tourist cabin system in Norway with over 500 cabins for those of you who want to be able to stay right in nature through DNT (The Norwegian Trekking Association). Cabins range from basic to fully equipped and are perfect for lone travelers or families.
